Setting

*are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? or disturbing? or memorable? describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.

>The setting of animal farm's farmhouse, the ending parts. It is memorable. Because it is climax, shocking part. That's why I can memorize it easily. And one more setting. The Boxer's death. I like him because he has similar vibe with me. And it's disturbing my happy memories of march 1st, Saturday. His death really saddens me. He did nothing wrong. And he didn't deserved that meaningless death. And he didn't get anything what he deserved. And he didn't realized clearly that he was just a faithful tool for his decietful leaders.

Mood

*what is the mood of this novel? do you find this novel saddens you in ay way? why?

>This novel saddened me. Reading this novel at the very first time, it didn't saddens me. But i read it again and read part to part, it saddened me more and more. Because of the death and trick, thousands of lies, decietful leaders and sad animals. I just thought about this novel as a fiction reflected the communism. And it is. In addition, it is a tragedy. The mood of this novel is a "Grief"

Climax

*what is the climax of this novel? what happens? how do the events of this novel make you feel?
>"But they had not gone twenty tards when they stopped short. An uproar of voice was coming from the farmhouse. They rushed back and looked through the window again. Yes, a violent quarrel was in progress. There were shoutings, bangings on the table, sharp suspicious glances, furious denials. The source of the trouble appeared to be that Napoleon and Mr. Pilkington had each played an ace of spades simultaneously."
This part is the end of the novel. And also it is the climax part. Each sides' leaders played an ace of spades at the same time. This part makes me like hitted my back head by hammer. How did the writer wrote a man as a pig and pig as a man!

animal farm - Characters

*Who are the main chracter in the novel? do you like them? why or why not? what is special about them? what do they reveal about the universal human experience?
>Main characters are Snowball, Napoleon, Mollie, Boxer, Mr. Jones. Snowball represents the leader who was defeated by other leader, Napoleon. Napoleon represents the winner of the politic conflict and who achieved the dectatorship and who drove the nation to despair. Mollie represents the turncoat who wanted before the revolution. Who is weak and didn't want changes and betrayed. Boxer is the one I like. He fulfiled his work. He did what he could do and what he had to do. And believe his leader with loyalty. Although he was killed by his leaders, he was the hidden hero in this novel. He represents the people who believed communism is right and supported but ended tragically. Mr. jones, he is the governer of people. Who gave his power to communists by one mistake.
I like boxer. And I don't like others. Because Bower was truly good person. He just decided wrong way, though.

animal farm

*are there are any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? what are they, and how do they relate? does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?
>No current situations. Because, these days there are no communism nations, except few countries. And we do not know how does it works. But it was current situations in the past. This novel shows me how communism was born. And what happened during the communism. And communism had ended in 1990s. These are already fixed and now,but in the novel there are no sheding light.

Animal Farm by George Orwell

*What is the major theme of this novel? why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2008?
The major theme of this novle is, the problem of the politicians, the process of communism.
Teenagers living in 2008 doesn't know what is communism. They just heard about it is not good. So some teenagers have wrong view of communism. Some teenagers doesn't think about communism is bad. This novel make me think again what result that communism made.
Problems of politicians. These are endless problems. I have never heard about good politician in the morden community. They always act like a hero who can solve all the problems in community. But they make really big problems. And teenagers are the people who will lead future society.
These are why those themes are important to teenagers living in these days.
